• “Samurai Experience” — learn kenbu techniques with real swords while traditionally dressed. ¥8,000 (near $67). 5-6:15 p.m. every Tues. and Thurs.

• “Sushi Masterclass” — make maki rolls with chef Masahiko Miura. ¥3,500. 3:30-4:30 p.m., second Sunday each month.

• “Japanese Sweets” — create traditional wagashi sweets. ¥3,500. 3:30-4:30 p.m., first and third Sundays.

• “Sake Tasting” — sample sakes and learn the brewing process. ¥5,000. 3:30-4:30 p.m. on fourth Sunday.

The hotel has 134 guest rooms and suites. Nightly rates run from ¥75,000 ($626) for a deluxe room to ¥300,000, suite.
