Brussels’ new flower show

In Brussels, Belgium, in even-numbered years, the Grand ’Place is covered with 2,000 square meters of flowers (the next “Flower Carpet” is Aug. 14-17, 2014). A new event, Floraliëntime, now will take place there in odd-numbered years. 

During Floraliëntime 2013 (Aug. 15-18), several rooms in the City Hall, itself, will be transformed into a garden, with more than 100,000 flowers arranged by renowned landscape architects. The Grand ’Place will have a relaxation garden.

10 a.m.-10 p.m. €5 (near $6.50)adult; under 12 years, free. Tickets at Visit Brussels shops and at Brussels’ Grand ’Place and Brussels Info Place (2 rue Royale) or, during the show, at the City Hall courtyard.

The Ghent Floralies, a massive indoor flower show held every five years in Ghent, will next take place April 17-25, 2015.
