October Where in the World? answer

Our photo for October 2026 was in Meteora, Greece, the Monastery of the Holy Trinity, taken by Nili Olay.A stone monastery with red tile roofs and a domed church sits atop a sheer sandstone pillar. Steps are cut into the rock face. Forested mountains and white clouds rise behind it, with a town in the valley below. Situated in the Pineios Valley, it is located at the top of a precipice more than 1,300 feet high. This monastery is one of the oldest of the group of 24 originally built in Meteora between the 14th and 15th centuries.

We had a total of 31 responses, with 30 correct answers. Some of you went as far as naming the church. We were impressed!

Congratulations to the winner of the drawing, Elizabeth Ballew.
