While in Suriname and Guyana in August 2016, we used a really effective product, Repel Mosquito Wipes (www.repel.com/products/personal-repellents/other-repellents/wipes.aspx).

The 5"x7" wipes are 30% DEET-impregnated, and, instead of spraying your face, neck and ears, you just use a wipe for those more sensitive areas. They come in handy sealed pouches, and because it’s not a liquid, they pass through TSA security checks.

Walmart and most sporting goods stores carry them, along with, of course, Amazon.*

* ITN found this product listed at Amazon.com for $6.30 for 15 wipes and $10 for two packs of 20, not including shipping/handling. At Walmart.com, a 20-count pack was listed at $3.86.
