EgyptAir hijacking

This item appears on page 62 of the May 2016 issue.

A man wearing a belt made to look like a bomb, with wires attached, hijacked an EgyptAir flight carrying 56 passengers and 15 crew on May 29, forcing it to land in Cyprus. Once the plane landed, the hijacker allowed passengers and crew to leave unharmed and gave himself up peaceably. It is believed the hijacker was attempting to speak to his ex-wife, who lives in Cyprus.
