Chase Sapphire service

After writing about the benefits of the Chase Sapphire Preferred card (Sept. ’12, pg. 40) and mentioning that the actual card has no raised numbers, making it unusable in old-fashioned franking machines, I decided to call Chase Bank.

The customer service person I spoke to offered to send us a plastic card with the account information in embossed numbers and letters. She said any customer service rep could do the same.

Also, she was able to convert my 54,393 points to United miles — and, since she could do it only in round numbers, she gave me an additional 607 points to round it up to 60,000. Now, that’s what I call customer service!

Although the card is in my name, I was able to transfer the miles to my husband’s account. They said they could put them into any account I wanted as a gift, charity or whatever.
