In Saudi Arabia, the last major terrorist attack directed against foreign nationals took place in 2007. Since then, the security environment throughout the Kingdom has greatly improved, particularly in the Eastern Province and Riyadh, but travelers are reminded of the ongoing threat due to the continued presence of terrorist groups, who may target Western interests.
