Democratic Republic of Congo​ dangerous

The Department of State warns of risks in the North Kivu province of the Democratic Republic of Congo, where armed groups steal vehicles, kidnap, rape and kill. In two separate incidents in April, foreigners were kidnapped by armed militia groups. Kinshasa remains a critical crime threat area, with armed robbery by groups posing as law enforcement.
