If you are looking for a place to relax in quiet, beautiful countryside, I strongly recommend the lovely B&B Imandorli (15021 Cardona di Alfiano Natta [AL] Via Troglio 1, ITALY; phone/fax +39 0141 922521, e-mail info@imandorli.it). We spent three weeks there, Sept.10-Oct. 2, ’03.
This is a restored 17th-century villa with a small adjoining house with one bathroom suitable for two couples or a family. It rents for €110 ($134) per night.
The other, larger accommodation has three bedrooms, three baths, a kitchen, dining area and living room. There is a large private patio and a deck with views of the whole area. Rooms can be rented separately and the price depends on the number of people.
B&B Imandorli is owned by Gabriella and Franco Rampi, the nicest and most accommodating people you will ever find. Franco operates a small boutique winery and grows almonds. Gabriella helps with all these endeavors besides keeping the B&B spotless. In the evenings you often will find her making coffee cakes for breakfast the next day. Breakfasts leave nothing to be desired. I was even treated to scrambled eggs from her pet turkey.
