In Cambrils, south of Barcelona, both native and Caribbean plants and a menagerie of Caribbean birds can be found at Parc Samá (Carretera de Vinyols s/n, 43850 Cambrils, Tarragona, Spain; phone +34 977 82 65 14, www.parquesama.com/parc-sama-eng).

Comprising a garden, forest, lake and palace, Parc Samá was built in 1881 by Salvador Samá Torrents, a marqués of Cuba, as a holiday home that would reflect his former life in Cuba. Famed Modernist Spanish architects Josep Fontseré and Antonio Gaudí collaborated in designing the grounds and buildings at the site.

At press time, two national airlines in Africa were scheduled to begin operations soon, with monetary assistance from Ethiopian Airlines. No contact info was available yet for either airline.

• Chadian Airlines, the national airline of Chad, was expected to begin operating out of N'Djamena International Airport (NDJ) on Oct. 1. Initially offering domestic routes, the airline anticipates expanding into other African and Middle East countries. Chad has been without a national airline since 2012, when Toumaï Air Tchad ceased flying due to safety and economic concerns.

On the island of Île Petite Grenade, in the French overseas territory of Martinique, guests can spend the night stargazing in a transparent, round sleeping pod at Le Domaine des Bulles (Propriété Benguette, Petite Grenade, 97280 Le Vauclin, Martinique; phone +596 74 69 54, www.ledomainedesbulles.com). A queen-sized bed, table and chairs fit within each air-conditioned pod, situated in a private enclosure with a separate bathroom/shower.

People visiting the Faroe Islands now can book tours directly with local providers ahead of time, online, at www.guidetofaroeislands.fo. At press time, the website allowed travelers to browse and book day tours and multiday tours with more than 50 companies and guides.

Running through and above the trees in Mogelsberg, northern Switzerland, a new elevated pathway, the Baumwipfelpfad (Steinwäldli 2175, 9122 Mogelsberg; phone +41 71 552 33 03, www.baumwipfelpfad.ch [in German only]), opened in May 2018.

The 1,600-foot-long, handicapped-accessible path offers views from as high as 160 feet above the ground. A complete circuit takes 30 minutes to an hour. A 2,000-foot-long ground path is also available. Entry, CHF15 (near $15.50).

On its 12-day round-trip cruises from Bergen to Kirkenes, Norway, from October through March, Hurtigruten (888/387-2566, www.hurtigruten.com) guarantees that if the northern lights are not seen during the cruise, each passenger will qualify for a free 6- or 7-day cruise.

Exhibiting artifacts from throughout the history of the St. Albans, England, area, the St. Albans Museum & Gallery (Market Place, St. Peter's St., St. Albans; phone +44 1727 864 511, stalbansmuseums.org.uk) opened on June 8 in a Georgian-era former courthouse that features a restored courtroom and prison cells.

The museum's galleries include objects from the Roman era, when the city was called Verulamium, to the War of the Roses on up to the Industrial Revolution. There are also galleries for temporary exhibits.

Featuring enormous sculptures entirely covered with citrus fruit, the annual Fête du Citron runs from the third Saturday in February to the first Saturday in March in the city of Menton, southeastern France. 2019's festival, from Feb. 16 to March 3, will be the 86th.

The orange-and-yellow figures are exhibited in Biovès Garden and illuminated on Saturday nights. A parade is held each Sunday afternoon and each Thursday night. There also will be food and craft booths plus excursions to citrus-growing regions around the city.

As of Aug. 1, tourist visits to Rapa Nui (Easter Island) are limited to 30 days (down from 90). In order to board a flight to Rapa Nui, a traveler must present his passport, a ticket showing return from Rapa Nui within the 30-day limit, proof of hotel or other accommodation and the provided Immigration form stamped by the Chilean Police Investigations Division.

On July 25, Belarus increased the number of days that some visitors can stay visa-free from five to 30. To qualify, you must be a citizen from one of 80 countries (the US among them) and enter the country as a tourist through Minsk National Airport (MSQ). You also must present evidence that you will be flying out of MSQ within the allotted time.
