Villa les Lauriers in France

Sixty kilometers south of Ajaccio in the seaside village of Propriano, Corsica, FRANCE, my wife, Christine, and I stayed in a wonderful apartment owned and operated by Marie-Francoise and Jean-Pierre Dereani, Villa les Lauriers (20110 Propriano, Corse du Sud, Corsica, France; phone/fax 00 39 04-95-76-29-60 or visit www.dereani.com).

We rented this 2-bedroom, ocean-view, fully equipped apartment in September ’05 for €450 ($525) per week. This included all fees except for €35 ($41) to cover apartment cleaning at the end of the rental period.

The following is a listing of some of the hotels, B&Bs, etc., in which ITN readers have stayed over the past year or so (outside of North America and the Caribbean) plus restaurants or sights nearby. Prices are those paid at the time of the visit and conversion rates are approximate.

When writing to ITN about accommodations, always include the PRICES and addresses/locations, along with the date (month/year) of your visit. Also, please state whether the price is per person or per room and, if it is per room, whether it’s for a double or single room. Thank you.

After reading “A Great Restaurant for a Splurge” (May ’04, pg. 52), I wanted to share some “Paris Hotels for a Splurge.” There’s no better city than Paris for splurging in style. While some travelers are trying to scrape up enough money for a trip, I know an equal number who figure you only go around once and may as well enjoy it to the hilt.

My trip was in November ’03. (2005 prices are also given.)
