Dear Globetrotter:

Welcome to the 514th issue of your monthly foreign-travel magazine, where travelers pool their knowledge to help each other out.

Case in point, Linda J. Vogel of Pomona, California, wrote to ITN, "Thank you for printing the readers' letters and Editor's notes about airlines providing compensation to passengers for excessive delays of flights from or within Europe ("Consequences of Rebooking on Own," Oct. '18, pg. 26 & "Know Your Rights in the EU," Oct. '18, pg. 27).

Dear Globetrotter:

Welcome to the 511th issue of your monthly foreign-travel magazine. For those of you holding a sample copy, while it may be on newsprint and in black and white, there's nothing ordinary about it.

Each issue of ITN carries the escapades and discoveries of travelers of all types who have at least a few things in common: they love to travel, they subscribe to this magazine, and they have written in about something they think other travelers — their fellow subscribers — would like to know.

For example, after experiencing a problem...

One of the things that I love about Asian food is that the preparation is so easy.

I once mentioned to a Myanmarese, “There are no fast-food restaurants in Myanmar.” The reply was, “All food in Myanmar is fast food.”

Indeed, with many Myanmar recipes, once you have the ingredients, creating the dish is quick. In addition, simple alterations to many recipes can create equally delicious dishes. Such is the case with Myanmar Ginger Salad.

I took a cruise in Myanmar on the Irrawaddy (Ayeyarwady) River from Mandalay to Bagan in...

Dear Globetrotter:

Welcome to the 513th issue of your monthly foreign-travel magazine.

If you're looking at your first copy of ITN, one of the free samples that we send out each month to anyone upon request (or at the request of a friend), the main thing to know about this publication is that it is a safe place for travelers to express opinions, share their experiences and tell what they've learned on trips outside of the US.

ITN is in its 42nd year, and we're pleased that we continue to receive comments like this one from Amy and Michel Romano of Glen Cove...

Dear Globetrotter:

Welcome to the 510th issue of your monthly foreign-travel magazine. Yes, in this day and age, an actual magazine! And we have a lot of longtime supporters, Barb Hartwell of St. Petersburg, Florida, among them.

Barb wrote, “International Travel News was responsible for propelling my husband and me toward one of the most wonderful trips we ever took and for leading me to a very special friendship.

“The very first sample copy I received (and I don’t know who was kind enough to have it sent to me) prompted my husband and me to...

Dear Globetrotter:

Welcome to the 509th issue of your monthly foreign-travel magazine.

This publication prints articles, letters and pictures sent in by its subscribers, of course, and I thought I’d explain a little about sending in pictures.

We can accept prints, so long as they’re professionally processed prints, not just computer printouts or photocopies. These days, however, most people just send us pictures by email.

With an email, each ...
