Patagonia Torres Del Paine

I am looking to book a lodge/hotel in the Torres Del Paine Park in Patagonia. We would like to spend 5 or 6 nights in a comfortable lodge. We would like to stay in a lodge that can provide transporation from Puentas Arenas. Would also prefer all inclusive at a fairly reasoable price. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Charles

We stayed at Lago Gray Hotel.

I also stayed at the Lago Grey Hotel and want to mention there are two very different classes of rooms. The group in front of reception (some have a minor views) are -- ¨cute. They are smallish, have a kind of country decor with frilly flowered curtains, etc. The hotel also has upgraded, very modern rooms with straight-on views of the glacier and floor to ceiling windows. It is worth the money to stay in the superior rooms. I was on the ground level and could walk right out into a grassy area, the rooms on the second floor might have better views. Take a look at tripadvisor for more descriptions. I don´t know if they can provide transportation from Punta Arenas, but suspect that you can arrange it once you get there.

We stayed at Hosteria Pehoe -- beautiful location; rooms were just adequate and we needed to ask for the the hot water to be turned on for a shower. The hotel was almost empty. The food was not good. When I was resarching our trip, most of the hotels had poor reviews. You come for the experience. Would I stay at Hosteria Pehoe again -- yes because of the central location and the view. The hotel had a guide who took us through the park.We did indpendent buses from Punta Arenas to Torres del Paine. It was a little difficult as there was no service that went directly. We had to change buses in Puerto Natales. Our bus was late getting there, so we were glad we didn't go for the 1/2 layover. If you don't speak Spanish it would more difficult. Several of the hotels do offer packages with transportation but it was a lot more money. We took a bus from Torres del Paine to El Calafate. We arranged it through Chaten Travel, who offered a driving service too.
