Safari

A group of 6-7, 50-60 year olds are looking for a safari company to Africa. We would like to go in Oct. this year, and stay about 17-21 days. Does anyone have any suggestions
of a good company to go with. We don't want anything top of the line, but no rough camping. We would like to mix animal viewing (hopefully without masses of people) and cultural experiences. Thank you for any help.

Several years ago, I agreed to arrange a Kenya-Tanzania safari for a group of nine of us, like the members of your group. I contacted several companies, including Rothschild Safaris and Fish Eagle Safaris, that I'm sure would have done a fine job for us. Ultimately, however, I chose to work with Susan Wood at A-Way-to-Africa Safaris in New Hampshire(www.awaytoafricasafaris.com). She arranged exactly what we wanted for what we were prepared to spend, and made excellent suggestions for a balance between lodges and tented camps. It sometimes seemed as if we were in touch by phone or email almost daily, and I couldn't imagine an easier person to work with. I suggest that you contact Susan and compare her services and prices before you make your decision.
