Airbnb offers lots of accommodations, but with the current global virus situation, their cancellation policy makes them potentially unattractive. I found a place , contacted the owner to request they relax their 50% penalty 48 hours after reserving. No deal. So, does anyone have a suggestion for an independent listing in London, May 4-10. Thanks, fellow readers

I don't know if this is what your looking for, but we have used this company for apartments in the past and have been pleased with them.

Thank you, 1traveler. They are in the West end and look really attractive,the descriptions seem forthright and complete. They are almost twice the cost that I was looking at through AirbnB.
Also, a L.A. friend gave me a lead on another independent source London Connection, an outfit out of Utah. They had no availability for my dates, but look promising for the next London trip,
