Walks for all with HF Holidays

Several years ago, in an article in ITN titled “Walking the English Countryside” (April ’10, pg. 52), I read about guided walking tours on which, every day, each tour member could choose an easy, medium or harder route to take.

This was with HF Holidays (Catalyst House, 720 Centennial Ct., Centennial Park, Elstree, Hertfordshire, England, WD6 3SY, U.K.; phone +44 345 470 8558, www.hfholidays.co.uk), an English walking group with whom you lodge in one place and take walks wearing only day packs. Some days, you take a bus before beginning the walk.

My husband and a group of “guys” were regularly doing big hikes in Europe, and when I read the article about HF Holidays, I said, “That’s it. My husband can go up and over and I can go around.”

We have now been with HF to the Lake District and the Isle of Wight in England, to the Cinque Terre and Piedmont in Italy and to Portugal. Our last trip with HF, in September 2017, was in Chinon, France.

They’re low-key and terrific. I highly recommend HF.
