Travelers wanting to camp at Torres del Paine National Park in southern Chile now must reserve their spots ahead of time during high season, approximately October to March.

Reservations for the three government-run campsites (Italiano, Torres and Paso) can be made by visiting www.parquetorresdelpaine.cl/en and clicking on the green “Reservas de Campamentos” button and then on the “hacer una reserva” button.

Government campsites are free of charge but can be reserved for only one night and for a maximum of two people. Tents and supplies are not included but can be rented through the park’s website.

Reservations at the privately run campsites in the park must be made at the operating company’s websites and cost CLP8,500-CLP9,500 (near $12.60-$14) per person per night, campsite only, with Fantástico Sur (www.fantasticosur.com/en)… or CLP5,000-6,000 per person per night, campsite only, with Vértice Patagonia (www.verticepatagonia.com).
