A money belt is easy to use

Regarding the article on an otherwise very enjoyable trip to London (July ’16, pg. 18), I must comment on the theft that unfortunately occurred after the author’s wife placed her backpack/purse on the back of her chair in a pub.

This is not a good idea even in one’s hometown. Unfortunately, there are opportunists all over the world.

When I travel, I never put anything in my backpack or handbag that I can’t afford to lose. My passport, credit card and money all go into a money belt.

Some travelers feel a money belt is too difficult to access, but, with practice, it is very easy to use. And it’s better to be a little inconvenienced than to be a LOT inconvenienced by losing money and credit cards.
