Vancouver Aquarium sleepovers

This item appears on page 69 of the June 2015 issue.

On a select few nights each year, visitors to Vancouver, British Columbia, can have a sleepover at the Vancouver Aquarium (845 Avison Way, Vancouver, B.C., V6G 3E2, Canada; phone 604/659-3552 if booking a sleepover or 604/659-3400 for general inquiries). Individuals and couples can join any “Family Themed Sleepovers.”

After the aquarium has closed, guests take a tour, hear guest speakers and visit the marine lab before crawling into sleeping bags beside a marine gallery, such as the beluga whale tank. A continental breakfast  precedes a tour of the Wild Coast exhibit and the Graham Amazon Gallery (a rainforest exhibit).

Sleepovers cost CAD110 (near $92) and must be booked at least two days in advance. To see sleepover dates and book online, visit www.vanaqua.org/experience/activities/sleepovers. The aquarium is open 10 a.m.-5 p.m. daily. CAD25 (near $21) adult or CAD20 senior or youth.
