The city of Rouen — where Joan of Arc’s trial and execution took place almost 600 years ago — was scheduled to open a museum in her honor on March 21.

The Historial Jeanne d’Arc (7 rue Saint-Romain, 76 000 Rouen, France; phone +33 02 35 52 48 00, www.historial-jeannedarc.fr [in French]) fills 10 exhibition spaces on five levels of the city’s Palais Archiépiscopal. It features multimedia experiences on the events of 1431 and the political debates that followed years later plus displays of objects and works that Joan of Arc has inspired.

Closed Mondays. Admission costs 9.50 (near $10.50).
