Crystal Cruises (Los Angeles, CA; 888/722-0021, www.crystalcruises.com) is adjusting their ships’ dinner dress code.

Through Dec. 20 on Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony, three types of evening attire are allowed: “Resort Casual,” including a casual dress, skirt or slacks with a sweater or blouse for women and slacks with a sweater or dress shirt for men, “Elegant Casual,” a cocktail dress or a skirt or slacks with a sweater or blouse for women and a suit or slacks with a jacket over a sweater or dress shirt for men, and “Black Tie,” which requires a formal cocktail dress, evening gown or dressy separates for women and a tuxedo for men.

Starting Dec. 21, evening meals allow for “Crystal Casual.” Women may wear a dress or wear a skirt or dressy slacks with a blouse or sweater. Men may wear a dress shirt, button-down shirt, polo shirt and dress pants and may include a sport coat. No tie is required.

At least one optional black tie meal will be scheduled for each cruise, with women in a formal cocktail dress, evening gown or dressy evening separates, and men wearing a dark suit and tie or tuxedo.

During evening events, baseball caps and shorts for men and women will continue to be banned.
