This month’s winner is RICHARD TAYLOR of Natchitoches, LA:

After the premature cancellation of our unpleasant stay in a Glasgow, Scotland, bed-and-breakfast, we asked our Lady Macbeth hostess to order a taxi, which she grudgingly did. As we departed, she stood glaring from the window.

I asked the young cabbie, “Have you seen the movie ‘Psycho’?”

“Yes,” he replied.

Pointing to the B&B, I said, “That’s the Bates Motel.”

“Oh, dear,” said our driver. “Mother will be distressed that you said that.”
