Seventeen of us, friends and family, followed the wildebeest migration in Tanzania, June 30-July 12, 2011, and it was the trip of a lifetime. We traveled with Africa Dream Safaris (Rancho Palos Verdes, CA; 877/572-3274).

We discovered Africa Dream online in 2005 and took a trip that we were so satisfied with, we used them again for our migration adventure, booking in August ’10. Because of our large group, we received a discount; our land cost was $5,087 per person. Round-trip air from Miami cost $2,130 each.

Africa Dream cofounder Michael Wishner will customize a safari to your wants and needs. We thank him for making our trip go so smoothly.

The lodges were wonderful. We would walk out in the morning and there would be several wildebeest looking at us from across the road.

Our group of 17 broke up into three Land Cruisers for the daily, full-day-long game drives. Our guides, Arnold, Reggie and David, were experts in their field and couldn’t have treated us any better.

We saw the “Big Five” within the first seven days of our trip! Just to watch a lioness training her cubs to hunt is such a treat. The elephants are so protective of their babies that you have to wait a few minutes to get a good photo, since they try to surround the baby and keep it out of sight.
