Sinsheim Technik Museum

The Auto & Technik Museum in Sinsheim, Germany, about 30 miles south of Heidelberg, is easy to find. My husband and I visited it twice in the last few years.

This place is huge! You could spend the whole day there seeing the automobiles, airplanes, locomotives, household machinery and models, including model trains that you can operate by putting a euro into a slot.

On the roof were a French Concorde jet and a Russian Tu-144 (the “Concordski”) in takeoff position. We could walk through these aircraft.

I believe you could do quite well without a guide, as most of the descriptions on the displays were in English as well as German. There’s an IMAX theater playing several films each day.

There were other museums in the complex, but when you have just one day or less, the Technik museum is more than enough to keep you occupied.
