Czech Republic guide

We took a wonderful trip to the Czech Republic in July ’05. Since my husband’s hobby is genealogy, this theme has directed our last several trips.

We found, through ITN, a wonderful guide for our days in Prague. Sárka Pelantová (tel. [+420] 777 225 205, e-mail saraguide@volny.cz or visit www.prague-guide.info) continues to live up to her reputation for having excellent guiding abilities. She is knowledgeable, accommodating, organized — the best.

She took us (four adults and one 10-year-old granddaughter) on a custom tour of Prague and environs for five days. For day trips and evening performances she arranged a driver for us, Zdenek.

The Mercedes van was very comfortable, accommodating all five of us plus Zdenek and Sárka. Sárka also contacted our hostess in Klatovy to arrange for a guide to help us with our genealogy search. She is a true treasure.

Sárka charged about €13 (about $16) per hour for a party of over four persons. She did not charge a booking fee, but that may change as she has received some last-minute cancellations for no apparent reason other than the party decided not to use her services.
