In late March, the US Department of State announced that, as of Dec. 31, 2015, it no longer will add additional pages to existing passports. At the Magao Grottoes in northwestern China’s Gansu Province, a $50 million “digital exhibition center” opened in September 2014.

The China National Tourism Administration is building 13,000 new toilets and upgrading 9,000 more at tourist sites, transport hubs, entertainment venues and restaurants throughout China in 2015. The administration has set a goal to build 33,000 toilets and upgrade 24,000 more by 2017.

The village parliament of the beach town of Salvador do Mundo, in the Indian state of Goa, passed a resolution banning kissing in public on March 22 after locals complained that displays of affection were “obscene” and “indecent.” The resolution also banned drinking and smoking in public and loud music. 

The opening date for Shanghai Disney Resort (www.shanghaidisneyresort.com.cn), initially set for December 2015, has been pushed back to spring 2016. 

The resort will include a traditional Disney theme park (at the center of which will be the largest Storybook Castle of any of their parks) with Disneyland-style rides, two themed hotels and a 495,000-square-foot shopping-and-dining complex called Disneytown.

In the Gulf of Tonkin off of northeastern Vietnam, Ha· Long Bay is known for its 1,600 naturally sculpted limestone islands and islets.
