Art Deco-style apartment in Paris

I have visited Paris many times, but our most recent visit was by far our most satisfactory stay. We rented a gem of an apartment in the 11th arrondissement, near Place de la République and Porte St.-Denis, in October ’05. Madame Dervenian Le Pape, a delightful woman, rents this equally delightful seventh-floor apartment for two in a 1927 Art Deco-style building (12 rue Bouchardon, 75010, Paris, FRANCE; phone 33 1 4201 6459).

There is a large sleeping/sitting area with two twin beds, two comfortable lounge chairs, a dining table and chairs and a TV. There’s also a small kitchen with a stove top, sink and washing machine, plus a large marble bathroom. The place is immaculately kept.

The best feature, however, is the view! French doors lead to a balcony and views of the Sacred Heart Basilica on your right and the Eiffel Tower on your left. At night, we lay in bed and watched the tower “twinkle” for 10 minutes every hour. What a sight!

The apartment is only steps away from a café, a pâtisserie and a market. All this for only €100 ($119) per night or €600 ($714) a week, which includes all taxes.

Madame Le Pape’s English is limited, and I’d be happy to serve as an intermediary or provide more information.
