B&B Olleros 3000, Buenos Aires

After a wonderful 14-day cruise around Cape Horn to Buenos Aires on the Norwegian Crown in December ’03, a friend and I took the advice of an ITN reader (April ’03, pg. 70) and stayed at B&B Olleros 3000* (Olleros 3000 Colegiales, Buenos Aires, ARGENTINA 1426; phone 54 0 11 4554-7269, fax 54 0 11 4554-1097, e-mail info@olleros3000.com.ar or visit www.olleros3000.com.ar).

We arranged everything over the Internet before sailing. Claudine and Jim, the owners, went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Claudine, who speaks perfect English, was prompt to reply to all our questions. She arranged a side trip for us to Iguazú Falls (a must) through a local travel agent at considerable savings over Norwegian Cruise Line’s post-cruise excursion rate.

Since we don’t speak Spanish, Claudia’s willingness to arrange taxis for us, take care of laundry, etc., made our stay so much more comfortable and uncomplicated.

Our very comfortable suite had a private bath and mini-spa plus daily maid service. The Continental breakfast, consisting of croissants, rolls, freshly squeezed orange juice and tea or coffee, was completely satisfying. All this for only $30 per night! Since the devaluation of the peso, Argentina is indeed a bargain.
