Hotel Aragon and Novotel Tour Noir in Belgium

For my January ’04 trip to BELGIUM, I found two great hotels offering extra services, good prices, 4-star ratings and family-friendly atmosphere. Also, both were in their city centers.

• In Bruges, Hotel Aragon (22 Naaldenstraat; phone + 32 [0] 50 333 533 or fax + 32 [0] 50 342 805) featured tea at 2 p.m., honor bar at 6, lovely lounge areas and a beautiful breakfast. A family room slept four for €180 ($226).

• In Brussels, Novotel Tour Noir (Zwarte Lievevrouwstraat 32, Rue de la Viérge Noir; phone +32 [2] 505 50 50, fax + 32 [2] 505 50 00 or e-mail h2122@accor-hotels.com) was built around a medieval tower. It had a beautiful free spa facility, a nice bar and a child’s Lego play area. €185 ($232).

Both hotels were spotlessly clean and the staffs were friendly.
