Message Board: Help

The Message Board requires everyone who wishes to post a topic, or response, to log in using a registered account. To register your username and password, you will need a valid e-mail address.

We have added this as a precaution to prevent spammers and/or people abusing the message board.

If you are a new user and have not registered before:

  • Go to the Message Board.
  • Under the "Message Board" heading, click "Sign up," and it will open a new screen with boxes to fill in.
  • Fill in the boxes. You must enter at least the following:
    1. “Username” — you can choose a made-up name for website use.
    2. “Email” — enter a working e-mail address. We require this to prevent spamming. (E-mail addresses will not appear on the Message Board, and we do not release this information to anyone outside of ITN.
    3. “Password”— you choose a password string. Words combined with numbers and/or signs are best. This will prevent anyone else from pretending to be you and posting.
    4. “Confirm”— type your password in exactly the same as before. This confirms to the computer exactly which string of symbols you want to use. *Note: the password is “case sensitive.” If you use upper- and lower-case letters, you MUST always type them in exactly the same way.
    5. Click "Create new account."
    6. If you have left a required box empty or if your password is different in the two boxes, you will be asked to reenter it. Retype and then click on the circles again.
  • If successful, you will be returned to the Message Board page. You should see the "Post new topic" button on above the list of topics.
  • You can proceed to read and post to the new Message Board.

If you have registered in the past, but your username/password is not working:

  • Go the Message Board login page.
  • Click on "(lost password?") at the top right above the login form.
  • A field will appear asking for your username or e-mail address. If you get the message that there is no such e-mail address, simply click "Sign up for a new account" to start a new account.)
  • Then click on the “E-mail new Password” button.
  • You will receive an e-mail that will ask you to click a link in order to login.
  • On the page that opens, click the "login" button, which will bring you to your user profile.
  • Fill in a new password (twice) and click "save" at the bottom of the page.
  • The page should display "Your changes have been saved."

Changing your password when logged in:

  • Go to the Message Board.
  • Log in with your current username and password.
  • On the top right, click your username (displayed as "Welcome, [username]."
  • On top, click the "Edit" link to edit your profile.
  • Fill in your new password. Type it in twice, exactly the same (it is still case sensitive).
  • To save the changes, click "save."

Or, if you have already registered but are locked out of your account, e-mail us from the address associated with your account and we will send you back a temporary password manually.
