The Microstates of Europe Travel Award

Make at least a short visit to the half-dozen smallest independent European nations.

Sometimes you want to experience just a little bit of Europe. Luckily, the Continent contains a number of microstates — independent sovereign nations each under 200 square miles in area — offering a diverse selection of experiences.

These geographic oddities might be minute, but each will take more than a minute to explore: Andorra, Malta, Liechtenstein, San Marino, Monaco and Vatican City. If you have accomplished visiting all of them, you qualify to apply for The Microstates of Europe Travel Award.

To receive your award, make a list of the names of those six countries (you're on the honor system here; no proof of visitation is required) and mail it to The Microstates of Europe Travel Award, c/o ITN, 2116 28th St., Sacramento, CA 95818. There is a processing/handling fee of $7 per certificate; you may enclose a check (payable to ITN) or credit card info (Visa, M/C and AmEx accepted; include card number, expiration date and signature). The 8½"x11" certificate, suitable for framing, will be sent flat with a cardboard backing.

Names of recipients will be printed in ITN.
