A landslide on Oct. 1 in the village of Cambray, Guatemala, just north of Guatemala City, killed at least 131 people, with more than 300 still missing as of press time. Heavy rains as well as erosion along the bottom of the hill are believed to have caused the slide. In the immediate aftermath of the landslide, rescuers managed to save at least 30 people.Â
