Three Nigerian cities were hit by terrorist bombings in December.

On Dec. 11, the city of Jos was struck by two bombs in succession at an outdoor market, killing more than 30 people.

On Dec. 22 in Gombe, successive bombs exploded at a bus station, killing at least 20 and injuring more than 40. A second bombing, in Bauchi, killed at least six people at an outdoor market.

No group has claimed responsibility for any of the bombs, but the Islamist militant organization Boko Haram is suspected. Boko Haram was responsible for the deaths of at least 2,000 civilians in Nigeria in 2014.
