La Crucecita, Mexico

My wife, Anna, and I spent seven nights in the Huatulco area of Oaxaca, Mexico, March 10-17, 2012. The March weather was unseasonably hot at 100 degrees. Nevertheless, we loved the area and especially the small, traditional town of La Crucecita, which is not really a “tourist” location.

The town is being hit hard by the bad publicity from the activities of drug cartels in the border cities. However, we found it, like many other parts of Mexico, to be very safe. It gave us the sense of its being untouched by outsiders.
