Ted and Francoise’s London flat
I’ve stayed four times in a wonderful flat in London owned by Ted and Francoise Phillips (6 Tite St., London SW3 4HX, ENGLAND; phone 011 44 7376 7646 or e-mail wonderfulchelsea@aol.com).
The owners are very nice and helpful in many ways.
The flat has everything one would wish for: twin-bedded room, marble bath, washer/dryer, stove, fridge, microwave, broadband Internet access and more. My most recent stay was in September ’07. A single cost £65 ($130) per night.
The location is excellent, about a 5-minute walk from Kings Road, where every kind of shop and eatery is available plus a Marks & Spencer department store with a fine food department. A number of bus routes run along Kings Road. Sloan Square tube station is about a 10-minute walk away.
There is a Tesco Express a short block away which is open 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. and has everything one needs in the way of food, wine and liquor. The river Thames is two blocks away and there are comfortable benches along the Chelsea embankment.
If anyone wishes more information, please don’t hesitate to contact me c/o ITN.

Hogwarts, Dumbledore, Voldemort, Muggles, Quidditch: if you’ve heard any of these strange-sounding words from your children or grandchildren, chances are they are fans of the best-selling Harry Potter books. Our 9-year-old grandson, Marcus, greatly enjoyed them and he and I read most of the series together. Five of the books have been made into successful ...
