Argentine travel agency
In planning for a trip to Antarctica in January ’06, I decided to also visit Iguazú Falls on the Argentina/Brazil border. While searching the Web, I found the Buenos Aires travel agency Partir Viajes E.V.T. (Av. Córdoba 679, 1° C, Buenos Aires, Argentina, C.P. AAF1054C; tel. +54 11 4515 1888 or visit www.partirviajes.com. ar). My contact there was Noelia Delpech (e-mail noelia@ partirviajes.com.ar).
Noelia was able to make the following arrangements, fitting my schedule: three nights’ single occupancy at Hotel Orquideas at Iguazú in Argentina, breakfast included; round-trip air from Buenos Aires to the Iguazú airport; transfers from the airport to the hotel, and a tour of both the Brazilian and Argentine sides of the falls, including entrance fees to the parks, all for $420.
The Antarctic tour group had a 2-night option, without the airfare, for $695.
Noelia was a pleasure to work with. She responded to my many questions quickly and efficiently. She even found me lodging, for both the night prior to the trip and upon return, at a hotel near the domestic airport in Buenos Aires. Within a half hour of my arriving at the Buenos Aires hotel, Noelia called to see if everything was satisfactory.
If you are going to Argentina, contact them. I am certainly glad I did.

This photo that I took at the show reveals that the tango is alive and well in Buenos Aires; at least, it was ...
On São Miguel, Azores, the Furnas Valley is covered with geysers and thermal pools. We watched as our lunch of cozido (stew) was cooked in the ground by geothermal energy, then we drove to the Terra Nostra Garden Hotel (www.jpmoser.com/terra_nostra_garden_hotel-r.html) where it was served to us in grand style. There were fantastic botanical gardens and ...
