Zegrahm makes it right

My husband and I took a trip to Mauritius, Madagascar and Seychelles, Feb. 23-March 9, ’04, with Zegrahm Expeditions (192 Nickerson St., Ste. 200, Seattle, WA 98109; phone 800/628-8747). In Madagascar, one of our carry-on bags was stolen. It contained items such as sandals, bathing suit, medicines and travelers’ checks. While the loss of all these items was not life threatening, it could have affected our trip.

Immediately Zegrahm sprang into action. Within two days we received replacement medicines as well as a bathing suit, sandals and reef walkers — no easy feat in poverty-ridden Madagascar! We also were allowed unlimited phone calls. In addition, Zegrahm offered us $500 for the bag plus, for each of us, $500 off a future trip.

In this age of megacompanies that could care less, we found this reaction on the part of Zegrahm remarkable and commendable. Sometimes things go wrong when traveling. In this case, Zegrahm Expeditions turned a lemon into lemonade.

The trip turned out to be fabulous, and anyone may e-mail me c/o ITN for further information.
